The lightbox consists of paper cutouts layered on top of each other in a box with a back panel. A LED light is placed behind all the layers, which makes the layers glow allowing light to pass through where there is the least coverage.
I designed a scuba diving scene because I have been a scuba diver since 2015. I wanted to create a scene with depth using coral and marine life that invites you to explore the Deep Blue.

I had to plan and illustrate each layer before cutting them out using an x-acto knife. I then layered them on top of each other using a thin border of posterboard to separate each layer allowing light to pass through in between them.
I constructed the box using a leftover poster board.
I applied different colors to produce different moods within the light box.
